17 March at 8:20 to 18 March at 0:00
On paddy’s day 2017 a group of women will travel by ferry and train from Dublin to Brighton as a tribute to the thousands of women forced to travel to access safe, legal abortions. On the day Ireland is celebrating our national identity we feel we can’t possibly stay in a country that refuses to treat one half of the population as adult citizens with a right to choose our medical care and denies us access to the reproductive health services that are standard in Western democracies.
We travel via StenaLine Sail and Rail departing Dublin at 820 am on the 17th March, seen off by St. Patriarchy who will banish us snakes from Ireland.
En route we have the following options:
Music jamming sessions
Stitch n bitch resistance crew
Spoken word, performance art
Activism discussion and stories
Any ideas you have for stuff to do on the journey please post in the comments! !
We arrive in Brighton at 6.30 pm to go to Fallopian Tunes repeal fundraiser: https://www.facebook.com/events/1648174478808687/
Book travel at with StenaLine by calling 01 907 5388 http://www.stenaline.ie/ferries-to-britain/rail-sail – Single ticket €47 return €94
The main event is the trip over, we plan to make our own way back to Dublin, some people might fly, others staying the weekend, others travel back on the 18th by Sail and Rail.
