This week marks 80 years since the Battle of Cable Street, where East End women and men stood together against fascism: http://eastendwomensmuseum.org/women-at-the-battle-of-cable-street/
On Sunday there’s a big march to celebrate the 80th anniversary and show that east London still stands together against fascism, racism, and intolerance: https://www.facebook.com/events/1727212247542774/
We’ll be there and we’d love you to join us.
Meet next to the Whitechapel Bell Foundry (32-34 Whitechapel Rd, London E1 1DY) at 11.45 am and we’ll walk down to Altab Ali Park together for the start of the march.
Join the women’s history bloc and march with our museum banner!
TRANSPORT: Annoyingly most of the local lines are down on Sunday (District, H&C, Overground, Circle) so the best stations to use are probably Bethnal Green on Central, Aldgate on Metropolitan, and Shadwell on DLR. Or catch bus 25 or 205 which go right past the foundry.
